Topcon launch new product Response Detector RD-80SA,which is suited to measure crosstalk on 3D Display

Not only crosstalk, but also Luminance and Chromaticity can be measured!

July 26, 2011

Topcon Technohouse Corporation which is subsidiary company of Topcon Corporation, Itabashi-ku Tokyo Japan, launches Response Detector RD-80SA July 2011. Response Detector RD-80SA is designed for the detection of 3D crosstalk, and measurement of Luminance and chromaticity on Active shutter 3D display.
The RD-80SA can be used for the evaluation of the moving picture performance such as response time and flicker level of display, furthermore measurement of luminance, chromaticity, and color temperature. The RD-80SA contributes to improvement of display quality in Research and Development and production line of 3D display manufacturer.
Crosstalk appears in Active shutter 3D display. The crosstalk means that the incomplete isolation of the left and right images so that one image leaks into the other. Crosstalk causes blur and double-ghosting images. Each 3D TV manufacturer develops new technologies to reduce crosstalk.
Response Detector RD-80SA can detect as small as 0.04cd/m² difference between two lights, and measure the luminance from 0.1cd/m² to 10,000cd/m² (for standard illuminant A) with response speed of 80μs.
3D TV market has been expanding since last year and is expected to steadily grow in the future. Topcon Technohouse is contributing to the improvement of display quality of the customer.

Response Detector RD-80SA

Feature

  • Response time, Luminance, and Chromaticity can be measured while collimating.
  • Small crosstalk signal on the active shutter display can be measured.
  • High speed measurement of 1 second.
  • As small as 0.04cd/m² difference between two lights can be detected.
  • Response time and Gray-to-Gray of FPD panel such as LCD TV, monitor, and mobile can be measured.

Usage

  • Detection of crosstalk on active shutter 3D display, and measurement of luminance, chromaticity, and color temperature.
  • Detection of response time and measurement of luminance and chromaticity of FPD such as TV, PC, mobile phone.
